Omens and Delays
We’ve seen our share of omens in the form of weather phenomena so far in the novel. So what do you think this one means: A bolt of lightning strikes a tree less than 50 yards away, splintering it and cutting in twain, while a red fireball flies through the house next door.
Well, for our podcast, it means the next episode will be a few days later than scheduled. We had a thunderstorm this evening. In the midst of the storm, we heard thunder exploding overhead, followed immediately by something exploding just behind our house. Then we heard the rustling of leaves and a crash as the severed trunk of a tree landed on our deck.
Fortunately, the tree missed most of the house and only the tip of the branches landed on a minor section of the roof. Unfortunately, the brush with the lightning fried my computer and a couple other electronic accessories. All my podcast stuff is backed up to the cloud and a portable hard drive, thankfully, but it’s a bit hard to produce an episode on a Chromebook. I’m in the process of getting a new computer and will get episode 8 up as soon as it’s feasible, which is probably the middle of next week. Stay tuned.
